Why visit your house during the Games?

Visiting the Mongolia House by Mongolia NOC during the Games presents a unique and enriching opportunity to experience the essence of Mongolian nomadic culture and its deep connection with the environment. As a nation of traditional nomads, our way of life not only benefits our people but also harmonizes with nature. Driven by extreme weather conditions, our nomadic lifestyle ensures that we leave no trace behind when we move. Once we relocate, the grass at our previous site regrows, restoring the land to its natural state.

Our Mongolia House, the “Ger,” epitomizes this philosophy. We have brought this traditional structure from Mongolia and set it up without causing any harm to the environment. After the Games, we will dismantle it and return it to our homeland, leaving no permanent footprint. By visiting our Ger, you will immerse yourself in the Mongolian lifestyle and way of living, witnessing traditional performances, games, and sports. We welcome all guests to experience the vastness of the Mongolian steppe and create unforgettable moments under the eternal blue sky of Mongolia.

What will be the must-see event?

Every event at our NOC is a must-see, offering a rich tapestry of Mongolian culture. We host five traditional music performances daily, ensuring that whenever you visit, you will likely catch a mesmerizing show.

Additionally, visitors can actively participate in traditional sports that highlight our rich heritage and athletic prowes. Mongolian Wrestling (Bukh): Learn basic moves from professional wrestlers, experiencing the strength and technique that define this ancient sport. Mongolian Ankle-Bone Shooting (Shagai): Try your hand at this unique sport under the guidance of expert players, discovering the precision and skill it requires.

These interactive experiences provide a deep dive into our traditions, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Mongolia. Each event is designed to leave you with unforgettable memories and a profound appreciation for our nomadic way of life.

How is it different to build your house in the Park of Nations?

This is the first time we have physically set up a Mongolian house at the Olympics. Previously, we showcased our culture through a virtual Mongolian house app during the Tokyo 2020 Games and hosted Mongolia Night in Hangzhou 2022. Being part of the Park of Nations is a significant honor and pleasure for us.

Setting up our NOC within the Park of Nations allows us to share our rich cultural heritage in a tangible and immersive way. Visitors can experience the authenticity of our traditional Mongolian house, the “Ger,” and engage directly with our customs and traditions. This physical presence enables a deeper connection and understanding of our nomadic way of life, which is not possible through virtual means.

Moreover, being part of the Park of Nations offers the opportunity to engage with and learn from the diverse cultures represented by other countries. This cultural exchange fosters mutual respect and appreciation, enriching the Olympic experience for all participants. It is a unique platform to celebrate the unity and diversity that define the Olympic spirit.
