For this new creation, choreographer Radhouane El Meddeb pursues work carried out in 2015 for Monuments en mouvement au Panthéon. Heroes is about and pays homage to the dancers at 104, a tribute to their spontaneity.
→ with the Centquatre-Paris, part of the Séquence Danse Paris program.

The show

As an artist collaborating with 104 (or CentQuatre as it calls itself), choreographer Radhouane El Meddeb has spent whole afternoons in the Nef Curial of this hall of creativity. Here, he has been able to observe dancers of all ages as they work – alone or with others – on improvisation of all styles. “It’s a relentless, stubborn dance that seems to bring into play their very existence.”

Their energy inspired the choreographer to conceive Heroes. In it, nine dancers confront their energies and desires in the joy of exhaustion, between solitude of the individual and amplitude of the group. Infinitely vibrant and welcoming, this piece gathers its performers into one common organism but without erasing each person’s uniqueness. An exalting celebration of the liberating pleasure of dancing solo and together.
