Nicolas Liautard / Robert de Profil

From 12 to 28 October 2016

In a world where most humans talk like jackasses, why shouldn’t a jackass talk like a human? Stage director Nicolas Liautard sets forth two versions of a fable in order to offer all tones to all ages.
→ in partnership with Théâtre Paris-Villette and Théâtre de la Ville

The Play

A little boy becomes mute. A jackass starts to talk. Balthazar the donkey vaguely recalls having played a part in Shakespeare play but he can’t remember which one. He has also been in movies, but it was so long ago, and he has worked very hard in a circus. When he eats hay, his muzzle is flooded with scents of his childhood in the country – it’s his version of Marcel’s famous childhood madeleine cookie.

Nicolas Liautard
uses these two shows (Snow White, Littlematchseller) to continue his research into new forms of theater accessible to children. He initiates them to the job of transmission of memories via fables and tales.
