Freely adapted from Jules Verne’s classic, Voyage au centre de la Terre (Journey to the Center of the Earth) recounts the fantastic epic of two sisters in the center of the planet. The Roseland Musical Dance Theatre Company merges various types of dance (contemporary, classical, and break dance) in a virtual universe projected on screens. → For audiences 7 and up

In Voyage au centre de la Terre (Journey to the Center of the Earth), the Roseland Musical Dance Theatre Company’s dancers and Franc Aleu’s audiovisual creations meet up with Jules Verne, long considered the father of science fiction. Loosely based on the 1864 novel, this latest creation begins by following Eva and Ava, two sisters making their way to Iceland. After meeting an oddball named Hans, they realize he is a reliable ally, and their voyage turns into a fantastic trip to the center of the planet.

A voyage full of surprises both beautiful and ugly, colorful characters, fantastic landscapes. Contemporary and classic dance merge with break dancing with a backdrop virtual universe projected onto screens. Roseland’s target audience of kids aged 7 to 16 is served up a swirling, graphic, and electric version of a cornerstone of the classics of modern literature.
