The performance OIZO, with its evocative subtitle Exploration of a world of chatty ceramics, gives a voice to objects: ceramics chat and adopt clownish postures, thereby coming to life and becoming sentient.
A silent planet awakes under a soft light. A wasteland populated by inanimate objects initially seems uninhabited. Two astronauts disembark and wonder, what might objects have to say? Where do these strangely shaped ceramics come from? How can we hear the microscopic life enclosed within them? From pebble to organ by way of the egg, the sculptures reveal themselves through their eyes, hands, and ears. The world of objects is a sensory refuge that stimulates reverie; it is a playground in which we can hear the poetry of the everyday. OIZO makes use of the visual arts, puppetry, and sound creation on stage to reveal the hidden histories of objects that live alongside us, in our kitchens and bedrooms. OIZO is an invitation to hear the living, an ode to the sensory and to the exercise of one’s curiosity.
